Analytical modeling and performance evaluation of an adjustable permanent magnet linear eddy current brake with mechanical magnetic adjuster

چکیده

A novel mechanical flux-adjusting permanent magnet linear eddy current brake with high performance and its nonlinear analytical model are proposed. The innovative point lies in attaching an additional magnetic adjuster directly above the interior bar, which can achieve flexible adjustment of air-gap flux improve generation capacity braking force regulation range. Considering importance analytic practical design, average density estimated based on equivalent circuit method Ampere’s law, where critical flux-weakening effect leakage calculated quantitatively. Then a theoretical is derived energy conversion verified by 3D finite-element method. Through analysis magnitude range given speed, advantages device electromagnetic proved separately. Moreover, design suggestions for selecting key geometrical parameters further given, offer useful information pre-design optimization.
